About Mohan Ananda

Dr. Mohan Ananda is currently the CEO of Ananda Enterprises, Inc., a California Corporation that provides consulting services to various companies in the areas of technology, management, intellectual property rights and international marketing specifically in India and also helps the companies to raise the needed capital.

Chairman and CEO of Innovative International Acquisition Corp. (IIAC)

Mohan is also the Chairman and CEO of the new SPAC entity, Innovative International Acquisition Corp. (IIAC) , a registered entity in Cayman Islands and has completed an IPO in the NASDAQ with the symbol of IOAC and has raised $230 million. This SPAC was formed by Mohan looking to leverage his extensive experience in starting and scaling businesses in the technology and healthcare space, both domestically and internationally. The objective of IIAC is to partner with an organization that has attained growth revenue and is looking at expanding business lines and geographical areas. IIAC elected to incorporate in the Cayman Islands in order to ensure access to a wider deal flow from multiple countries. IIAC intends to focus its search for business combination targets in the following four industries: Consumer Technology, Healthcare, Information Technology Services, and Enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS).

Executive Chairman Roles

Mohan was the founding chairman and CEO, and now the Executive Chairman of SecondOpinionExpert, Inc, a US Corporation, which provides healthcare services and related technology tools to healthcare companies for telemedicine services to patients around the world. Mohan also functions as the Executive Chairman of Innovation Endeavors Pvt. Ltd., an Indian Company, , which is involved in designing, developing and executing world class technology, business solutions and infrastructure solutions for IT driven industries, committed to quality, on-time delivery and innovation. Mohan also functions as the Executive Chairman of IGDS Technologies Pvt. Ltd., an Indian Company, which provides services such as Product Engineering, Business Consulting , Mobile Technology Solutions, and Business Process Automation to companies around the world. Mohan is also working with a new social media / market place startup company, Frientap, Inc as its Executive Chairman.

Board Memberships and Investment Activities

Mohan also serves on various Boards and also functions as an advisor to a number of companies. He works very closely with the investment community in the US including investment banks and venture capital firms. He also functions as an angel investor for some high tech startup companies.

Founding Chairman of Stamps.com

Mohan was the founding Chairman, CEO and President of Stamps.com ( NASDAQ: STMP). He currently serves on the Board of Stamps.com. He has been on the Audit Committee and Compensation Committee of the Stamps Board for a number of years. It is the leading Internet Company to introduce a new technology, developed by Mohan and protected by a number of US Patents that have been approved by the United States Postal Service (USPS) to allow a consumer to print postage online using off the shelf computer and printer. Mohan was instrumental of raising in excess of $450 million of capital for the Company through private and public offerings. Mohan also has been instrumental in entering into a definitive agreement for Stamps.com (STMP) to be acquired by Thoma Bravo, a leading software investment firm, in an all-cash transaction that values Stamps.com at approximately $6.6 Billion. Under the terms of the agreement, Stamps.com stockholders will receive $330.00 per share.

Founder and Director of Envestnet

Mohan was also a founder and a director of Envestnet (www.envestnet.com, NYSE: ENV), which is a financial services company and is a leading provider of integrated portfolio, practice management, and reporting solutions to financial advisors and institutions. Mohan was instrumental in starting Envestnet’s India Operations in Trivandrum, Kerala, that has currently over two thousand employees in India, which provides major research and development functions and day to day operations for the whole Company. Mohan was also responsible for facilitating and constructing an Office Complex for Envestnet’s India Operations in Trivandrum.

Founder and Director of JAB Holdings Limited

Mohan was also a founder and a director of a European based Venture Capital Firm, JAB Holdings Limited, incorporated by the laws of Guernsey. The Venture Firm’s capital was raised through a public offering in the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange in the UK. The objective of the Venture Firm was to make early stage and pre-flotation investments in companies specializing in the development or application of new and innovative technologies for use in the industrial, commercial and consumer sectors. One of JAB!s investments was RM Auctions, Inc, a Canadian Company which is a leader in the classic car auction space and Mohan served on the board of RM Auctions. It has been recently acquired by Sotheby and is known as RM Sotheby’s.

Founder of Ananda and Krause Law Firm

Mohan also created a Law Firm in 1986, Ananda and Krause, a California Law Corporation. Mohan’s primary area of interest was providing technical, management, intellectual property rights and other corporate legal advice to high tech startup and medium size companies. His clients also included large companies such as the Aerospace Corporation, JPL, IBM, GE, ITT and Loral. He primarily provided technical and management consulting to these large companies.

Research and Innovations

During this period Mohan continued his research activities on his own and developed the new technology of securing information in a communication link and authenticating the participants of the communication link using any communication medium including the Internet. Mohan has obtained a number of distinct US Patents that have been issued by the US Patents Office for the new technology and the new technology has become the foundation for the formation of Stamps.com. Mohan has currently fifteen Patents issued and pending in the US Patents Office and he is also working on several new Patent applications. One of the recently issued patents is in the area of telemedicine using artificial intelligence. The Second Opinion Expert telemedicine technology platform is developed based on the innovation in this patent.

Contributions to Aerospace and Defense

Prior to his work at Ananda and Krause, Mohan joined the Aerospace Corporation, a think tank for the US Air Force dedicated to its space programs. Mohan became a primary architect in shaping the design and implementation of a major space program for the US Department of Defense (DoD) known as the Global Positioning System (GPS). Mohan’s area of responsibility included system survivability and specifically to develop capabilities to make sure that the communication link survives during a nuclear exchange and in particular the link does not fail due to electromagnetic pulses due to any high altitude nuclear detonation. Mohan was working in highly classified areas and had specialized security clearances from the DoD for working in highly sensitive projects. Mohan has received a number of awards for exceptional contribution to the security of the US from the Aerospace Corporation and for presenting the most outstanding paper from the Institute of Navigation.

Contributions to Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL)

Previously Mohan worked at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), Pasadena which was managed by Caltech for NASA as its dedicated center for Interplanetary Space Missions. While working at JPL, Mohan has participated in many pioneering research projects and was instrumental in developing several algorithms for achieving interplanetary navigation to many planets such as Venus, Mars and Jupiter and was a major contributor to many space programs such as Viking, Pioneer, Voyager and Mariner missions. While at JPL, Mohan was responsible for major advancements in the capabilities of Deep Space Network (DSN) stations around the world which are responsible for data transmission and collection during interplanetary satellite missions. Mohan has published extensively and has given lectures around the world in various international conferences and institutions as an invited speaker.

Academic Background

Mohan came to the US in 1967 as a student at California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, California to pursue his graduate studies, after his undergraduate education in Mechanical Engineering from Coimbatore Institute of Technology with a BE degree from the University of Madras, India. After obtaining his MS degree in Aeronautics from Caltech, he joined the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) to pursue his studies for a PhD degree in Astro-dynamics and Control. Mohan obtained his PhD degree from UCLA in 1973.

Teaching and Legal Career

In addition to publishing several research papers in many reputable journals, Mohan has taught a number of graduate courses as an invited faculty member in many Universities in the US including UCLA and abroad. Mohan due to his intellectual curiosity he also obtained his law degree, Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD). In the same year after passing the California Bar Examination he was admitted to the State Bar of California and he has been a member of the Bar in good standing for the last 35 years.

Charitable Activities and Philanthropy

Mohan is also involved with a number of charitable activities in the US and in India through Ananda Foundation, Inc., a Charitable Foundation he has created under the laws of the US. Mohan functions as the CEO of Ananda Foundation and also as the Managing Director of Achuthan Nair and Easwari Amma Charitable Trust primarily for the purposes of charitable activities in India formed under the laws of India. Mohan is also working as the President of another charitable organization, Paanini Foundation, formed to help displaced employees by automation and developments in Artificial Intelligence. Mohan is also working with Stanford Seed Transformation Program organized by Stanford University through Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies as a Seed Consultant assisting companies in India in the areas of improving management, growth, marketing, finances and other related areas.
